The Department of Social Development is tasked with taking care of the social development needs of the South African community. SASSA, as a facilitating arm of the Department, is tasked with enhancing the social security administration and payment services to the poor in South Africa.
The challenge
With some staff members from the Department integrated into SASSA it became quickly apparent that new mindsets and focus would be required to enable them to make this fundamental change possible.
The solution
Mind Magic helped to make this process seamless by recommending and then providing training on carefully selected programmes designed to enhance management capabilities. These included courses on Coaching, Mentoring, and Presentation Skills. The training process was concluded in March 2009 when the participants successfully completed our Training Facilitation Skills programme.
The outcome
The outcome of this programme was motivated staff who now have greater ownership of their development and organisational decisions.
