The School Management Teams and the School Governing Bodies of various schools in the southern district wanted to build the leadership capacity of Supervisors of support staff.
The challenge
The challenge faced by these supervisors was how to motivate their staff so that they work as a team. They were faced with taking on an added workload because staff members were not pulling their weight. They needed to learn the fundamentals of management as well as the art of delegating and problem-solving.
The solution
The Supervisory and Leadership programme was the solution. Through both individual and group activities, Mind Magic Consulting transformed the way of thinking of the supervisors. The group activities included, but were not limited to discussing the purpose and nature of supervision as well as what qualities an effective supervisor needs to have. The goal-setting, delegating and problem-solving techniques gave them the confidence to become a great leader.
The outcome
At the end of the training session, the delegates committed to applying their newly acquired leadership skills and to manage their interpersonal team processes to achieve the required outputs.
