knowledge the organisation currently has. A skills audit is a
process for measuring, assessing and recording the skillls
of an employee or team. The outcome is a training needs analysis
that identifies where training is needed.
DEFINITION
A Skills Audit involves identifying the skills and knowledge
(both used and latent) held by existing staff.
OUTCOMES
The Outcomes of a skills audit are existing skills and knowledge
profiles for particular individuals or groups within the organisation.
WHY CONDUCT A SKILLS AUDIT?
A skills audit is conducted in order to identify the gaps,
if they exist, between the skills requirements of the organisation and existing skills.
When completed, the results can be aggregated to obtain a
statistical view of existing skills and knowledge.
